Description

Belt for man of noble rank. Heavy, closely woven, corded, red cotton with brocaded band on ends. Brocade of double headed eagles in magenta, yellow and green. Fringed ends. 42-35-1/5 are part of one costume.

As per Sigrid Meier, "Warp: 34 epi, two singles, Z twist, red cotton. Weft: 16 ppi, two singles, Z twist, red cotton. Warp predominantly plain weave. Supplementary weft is two faced. Woven on a backstrap loom."
