Description

For Max godmother, white cotton woven in three pieces, double blanket stitch covering seams, brocaded design of double headed eagle on upper front and back bearing applique sun disc of blue silk with embroidered center, shoulder decoration appliqued sun disc and narrow brocaded band of running birds, appliqued rays with embroidered edges around neck, entire design is in red and a little yellow silk and lavender cotton.

As per Sigrid Meier, "Warp: 52, single ply, Z twist, 1 strand hand spun white cotton. Weft: 30, single ply, Z twist, 1 strand white hand spun cotton. With areas of 3 strand white striping. Center panel red silk shadow stripes. Plain weave, 3 pieces joined with decorative indigo stitch. Made on a backstrap loom."
