October - June

Archaeologists in the field.

Join us online for a brand-new virtual lecture series, Archaeology in Action, featuring Penn Museum’s leading researchers. You’ll hear the latest findings from archaeological projects across the globe and see video highlights of what it’s like to do research in the field.

An exciting update to our Great Lectures series, these live talks online will kick off with Near Eastern archaeologist Dr. Michael Danti, one of our field directors in Iraq, who will share new details about the discovery of the Mashqi Gate at the ancient site of Nineveh. Also: Hear about a monumental citadel gate in modern Turkey, discover traces of a 19th-century Yucatan Mexican rebellion, and explore a new look into ancient city life in India.
